My favourite picture book

My all time favourite picture book as a child was 'Dogger' written by Shirley Hughes.

Poor little Dave has lost his beloved toy dog and the only way to get him back is to buy him from the school summer bric a brac stall.......but Dave has no money and oh no, someone else had got there first! I won't spoil it.......go and find a copy of this delightful story of loving and losing a favourite toy and you won't be disappointed. I can still remember asking my infant teacher (Mrs Murley) to read it to us at the end of the day.

I have since read it to my Reception class who also really enjoyed it.  They know 'Dogger' as 'Miss Mulcahy's favourite book when she was in year two, but not as a teacher, as a girl!'

I will add more of my favourite books as a teacher.......watch this space!
